Chris founded Venturity in 2001 after holding accounting leadership roles with several different organizations in the Dallas - Ft. Worth business community. The firm grew out of a perceived need among small and growing companies for an alternative to a traditional in-house Controller and related department.
Prior to forming Venturity, Chris spent several years as a consultant, performing interim CFO and finance duties at several Dallas-area firms. In addition, he held controllership positions at Busybody Fitness Warehouse, a 90-store fitness retailer, as well as USCardioVascular, a physician practice management company.
Chris began his career with Arthur Andersen and Company in 1989, focusing primarily on the retail, distribution and manufacturing industries throughout his tenure. His clients included Zale Corporation, the world’s largest retailer of fine jewelry, and Carlson Restaurants Worldwide, whose TGI Friday’s concept included over 500 worldwide locations. Other clients included Elcor Corporation, a publicly traded manufacturer of roofing materials under the Elk brand, and Glazer Wholesale Drug, one of the largest wholesale alcoholic beverage distributors in the nation with revenue in excess of $2 billion.
Chris earned his Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Mississippi in 1989. He has been active in several professional organizations, including the Dallas chapter of Entrepreneurs’ Organization, and Dallas/Fort Worth Retail Executives Association. He also serves on the board for the Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas. He lives in Dallas with his wife, Lori, and their three children.
